Sophia Bush Adopts Pit Bull Puppy
13:48:00
Sophia Bush knows what she's going to be toting around town – her new puppy!
The actress, who launched a market bag of her own design for Apolis, dropped by the brand's Los Angeles boutique earlier this week with her new addition, a blue pit bull rescue named Griffin.
"He's the sweetest, most mellow little guy," Bush tells PEOPLE. "He just wants to snuggle and kiss everybody. And his feet are so big that he trips over them when he runs. We call him dinosaur paws."
Seven-week-old Griffin was one of a litter of eight puppies born to a stray that was set to be euthanized. The pregnant dog was pulled out of the shelter by Wags and Walks, a pit bull rescue.
Bush has always supported adoption, and has two other pit bulls, Penny and Patch.
Griffin joins a happy household. "They're the loves of my life," Bush has said of Penny and Patch. "Rescue dogs are always nicer than purebred dogs, anyway."
